Carrie Athay grew up experiencing the arts around the world, shaping her belief in the power of music, history, and art to connect communities. She holds degrees from BYU and George Washington University in Humanities, Anthropology, and Museum Studies, and has worked as a conservator and cultural professional for several museums and nonprofits. As Executive Director of the Idaho Falls Symphony, she focuses on building meaningful community connections through music. Carrie, her husband William, and their three children enjoy exploring Idaho’s outdoors and vibrant arts scene.

I love to travel and have new experiences. Whether hiking in beautiful mountains or visiting treasures in museums or enjoying amazing concerts, I’m up for it. I build bridges between people with music and the arts as the commonality. I truly believe that we are more alike than not and we bridge our differences as we share heartfelt experiences. A connected community is a strong community; one that thrives. I believe there is enough room for all of us to succeed and I love making connections with others who work to achieve this same mission.
